i pride myself in having some knowledge abt economics, having studied that for a good part of my life. in fact i was just one class short of making it my minor in college...( i just could not justify paying $2500 for that one class... that was bad economics according to me)

however the economic crisis has left me in a stump. i am totally lost as in what the govt should do at a time like this. i am a firm supporter of the classical theory and adam smith's "invisible hand" theory but now i think that is a route america cannot afford to pursue... i do not know what to think anymore.

"this american life" have a great episode abt this crisis. an excellent report, worth an hr of your time to listen to.

i know i am back in houston but i was glad this trip back to singapore i managed to find time to visit one of my favourite places in the city.
it is like the quintessential embodiment of singapore -- sungei road, or thieves market.

you can find any random crap over here. this area embodies singapore as there seems to be a mingling of all the different races, tongues and skin colour. the beautiful thing is everyone is oblivious to this fact.

i think this is the most fantastic audio i had ever recorded(i got it a sungei road). in it there is a varied amount of languages from people of all walks of life -- tourists, labourers, upper class, lower class...
